HIGHWAY TO HOME
Transformation of West Baltimore - A transit-oriented master plan reconnecting neighborhoods divided by the "Highway to Nowhere," fostering equity and sustainability.
Emerging Architect in Study and Exploration
I am an architecture student in the University of Minnesota's integrated Master of Architecture and Bachelor of Design in Architecture program, driven by a deep interest in architecture as a tool for social and community wellbeing, environmental stewardship, and the long-term impact our designs have on all living beings and our planet.
Much of my early life was shaped by public and community spaces such as libraries, mosques, community centers, and affordable housing, which revealed how the built environment influences dignity, belonging, and opportunity. These experiences, combined with my academic education, have grounded my belief that architecture is never neutral and carries a responsibility to serve people equitably and thoughtfully.
My work is motivated by a commitment to community-centered design that delivers long-term social value, rooted in identity, shaped through listening, and accountable to the communities it serves. I am especially drawn to design in housing, healthcare, civic, and urban projects that engage directly with communities and address real-world challenges such as affordability and access to resources. I value collaboration, listening, and learning from lived experience, and I approach design with curiosity, creativity, humility, discipline, and care. I am seeking opportunities to grow within practices that share the values that design excellence and social responsibility are inseparable, and architecture can function as a lasting form of care.
